Kids Home Alone Safety Class
(Also known as Youth Safety Skills Class)
Student MUST be 11 years or older at the time of class.
This full-day safety class is designed for youth ages 11–16 who are preparing to stay home alone or are already doing so. At this stage, many kids are ready to take on more independence, and this course helps them do so safely and confidently.
Students will learn essential safety skills and self-care strategies to use when they’re home without adult supervision. The class includes expert instruction and a take-home manual covering topics such as:
In addition, students will receive CPR and First Aid training, empowering them to prevent or respond to unexpected situations at home or in the community.
By the end of class, students will also:
Understand how their growing brain affects decision-making
Be able to identify what a non-toxic adventure looks like
Learn and apply the 4-question method to help make healthy, informed choices
Know when and how to reach out to their constellation of support — the trusted people they can talk to when they need help or guidance
