The Driver Awareness Program allows teens to get their driving permit, and provides parents an affordable driver’s education option. This class includes information in all areas of the learn-to-drive process, and coverage of material found on the DMV written test (taken at the DMV). Class also includes video driving simulations with a focus on safety.
To participate in this Colorado Department of Revenue certified program, your teen must be at least 15 1/2 years old. After completion of the Driver Awareness Program, students receive a Completion Statement to be presented at the DMV for a permit. Registration at least 5 days prior to class is required.
Please note: Parents are asked to attend the first 90 minutes of the class along with their student. During this time, parents and teens will be provided information on the permit process, what to teach your new driver once they get on the road, and driving safety issues common to new teen drivers. The permit test is not offered with this class, you will need to schedule an appointment with the DMV upon completion.
Class Cost: $80.00
Class Time: 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm
